Break the Taboo

Let us all break the silence, raise awareness and change negative social norms around menstrual health and hygiene!

Campaign by The Daily Star, a leading English-language newspaper in Bangladesh, to commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day 2021, which was celebrated on May 28th. Menstrual Hygiene Day is an annual global event that aims to raise awareness and promote good menstrual hygiene management practices.

The campaign on the website includes informative articles, interviews with experts and advocates, and personal stories related to menstrual health and hygiene. It also highlights the importance of breaking the silence and addressing the negative social norms and stigmas surrounding menstruation.

By creating more awareness and understanding about menstrual health and hygiene, this campaign can help to promote positive attitudes towards menstruation and encourage better menstrual hygiene management practices. It is an important step towards achieving the goal of menstrual equity and ensuring that all women and girls have access to the resources and support they need to manage their periods safely, hygienically, and with dignity.
